As many of you are aware my husband Matt who is also a dad and grandpa has Hemophilia B a bleeding disorder in which his blood does not clot.

This year marks our thirteenth year participating in the Bleeding Disorders 5k run/walk.

This walk is dear to our hearts not only because of Matt who no matter what is always there for his family and friends along with strangers; but because we have made many close friends in the Bleeding Disorders Community otherwise known as the Southwestern Ohio Hemophilia Foundation who like Matt have directly benefited in some form from the proceeds of this particular 5k.

This year our team which consists of myself, Matt, our children and yes even our grandchildren are not only walking or running to bring awareness to Bleeding Disorders but are hopeful we can reach our goal of $500.00.

Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated.

Please continue to read if you would like more information in regards to why fundraising is so important along with where the money raised goes along with how it directly helps those within our Bleeding Disorders Community.

Thank you and much love,

The "B" Team

The 5K is in its 15th year. This is one of two fundraisers for the Southwestern Ohio Hemophilia Foundation. All proceeds go directly into programming and support for those impacted with a blood disorder (bleeding & clotting) and their families.  Programming includes educational programs concerning bleeding and clotting disorders, treatment options, insurance, advocacy and living a quality life with a life long disorder. Funds go to send children and youth with blood disorders to specialty camps, purchasing medic alert bracelets and support, special assistance funds for help with utility bills, food and shelter when a family experiences difficult times. Bleeding disorders treatment is one of the most costly disorders and funds go to provide families with opportunities for social events that help the family bond within and network with others experiencing similar life challenges.

AGAIN 100% of proceeds goes directly to support the individual and their families.

Thank you

Dena Shepard, SWOHF Board of Trustees and 5K Director
