TeamShepard
Team Shepard is comprised of family & friends of Eric Shepard. Eric is diagnosed with Hemophilia B or Factor 9 Deficiency. Eric has never allowed hemophilia to define who he is or let it stop him from pursuing his dreams and goals. Eric has made serving others a primary part of his life. He has served locally and internationally including Russia, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Swaziland tending to those in need physically and emotionally. He has been an active member of the Sothwestern Ohio Hemophilia Foundation by attending events, volunteering on committees, speaking, mentoring and fundraising. When Eric was eleven he started a fundraiser, "Bouncing for Bucks", to raise awareness and funds for a cure and better treatments for hemophilia and bleeding disorders. To date over $32,000 has been raised. He has attended speciality camps for hemophilia, participated in Step Up Reach Out, National Youth Leadership Institute and serves as a SWOHF Board of Trustees member. Eric was the recipient of the Ryan White award for his outstanding contributions to the hemophilia community. Eric's compassion and willingness to serve led him to a career in medicine. Dr. Eric Shepard is a pediatrician trained at Riley's Hospital for Children and now a Palliative Care Physician with Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. Eric, his amazing wife Katherine and sons Jack & Rowan continue to be involved and support SWOHF and encourage each of you to make a difference in a life by participating in the BDA 5K virtually through walking, running, cheering and/or donating to this worthy cause.
